UNA-Canada’s core programming is dependent on contributions from foundations, corporations and individuals, including our members and supporters across Canada. The Fundraising & Marketing (FR&M) Manager will be a key focal point for all the organizations’ marketing and fundraising efforts. They will work alongside and report directly to the CEO, who is a seasoned fundraiser/marketer himself. The selected candidate will be responsible for running special fundraising campaigns, liaising with donors and members, and providing oversight for fundraising and donor engagement. The FR&M Manager will also actively support the organization’s major fundraising events and produce high quality marketing collateral to support all philanthropic efforts.

The position is ideal for a creative fundraiser and relationship engagement professional looking to make a difference through a variety of fundraising efforts from major donors, corporate sponsorship, and direct mail campaigns. As the main contact point with our donors, you will be on the frontline of our work to bring global issues to Canadians through events and activities based on United Nations Days and national events of global relevance. The selected candidate will work side by side with the Communications Officer and our contracted Database Admin consultant. The FR&M Manager will be part of the organization’s Management Team working closely with the Senior Management Team.
Responsibilities:

Lead UNA-Canada’s individual giving programme: annual campaign planning, design and execution (and learning/evaluation)

Plan and oversee donor acquisition and stewardship programmes

Create and implement the organization’s Direct Mail (DM), email and digital fundraising campaigns

Develop and implement social media strategies (channels, content, frequency) together with the CEO and the Communications Officer

Participate in website optimization to maximize fundraising and brand awareness growth together with the Communications Officer and senior management

Manage our donor information and reporting (Salesforce) with the support of our Database Admin consultant

Conduct a deep dive (data mining) into our donor data to identify potential mid-level and major donors (existing and lapsed)

Act as the key Project Manager for all our key fundraising events like the Global Citizen Award Gala

Support the CEO in growing our major Donor and Corporate giving portfolios: data, research, presentations, etc.

Build, design and produce a Case for Support (for philanthropic efforts) together with senior Management Team

Explore other opportunities, like employee giving and legacy fundraising program

Partner with designated agencies and volunteers to grow support and increase revenue
-
Enable and inspire existing and new volunteers to help boost our presence in Canada

Assist with other administrative and fundraising tasks as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field
-
Minimum of three years’ experience working in fundraising, marketing, philanthropy, creative services and/or member / donor relations

Familiarity and experience in digital fundraising with relative results to show

DM and e-mail fundraising campaign writing, design and execution experience

Excellent interpersonal skills, both in-person and through virtual channels – including on the phone

Creativity, especially in producing high-end visual presentations

Ambitious, “can-do” self-driven team player

Comfortable operating in the unknown and building things

Sharp, analytical and strategic thinker

Initiative and follow-through are a must

CRM / fundraising fluency software knowhow (Salesforce preferred)

Experience working as part of a remote team across Canada

Good project management and written and verbal communication skills

Working in or with a not-for profit preferred, but not required.

Experience in event management a positive
-
English is the primary working language but a knowledge of French a plus
