UNA-Canada Webinar on the Economic Impacts of COVID-19 on Youth Employment
The United Nations Association of Canada, along with an Expert Panel will be hosting a webinar today discussing the economic impacts of COVID-19 on youth employment in Canada and around the world. The webinar will touch on educational and cultural impacts of COVID-19 on youth, post-COVID-19 employment opportunities, the role youth will play in addressing economic impacts and the supports that youth will need to navigate this unprecedented time.

ABOUT the Guest Speakers
Gabriel Bran Lopez is President and Founder of Youth Fusion - a charitable organization whose mission is to contribute to student retention, employability and civic engagement. Gabriel is also the co-founder of FIRST Quebec Robotics and the annual Robotics Festival, two initiatives implemented thanks to the precious collaboration of Bombardier. Youth Fusion is recognized for the creation of more than 20 educational programs divided into 4 major areas (Arts, Science & Engineering, Design and Leadership & Entrepreneurship) that focus on experiential learning and that mobilize renowned partners.
Kylie Hurst is a known Talent and Employment Strategist who has helped scale startups, small, and medium sized businesses throughout the National Capital Region. She is the Founder of The Recruiter Collective - as network for Recruitment and HR thought leaders - and sits on advisory councils for both Algonquin College and the University of Ottawa. Kylie is also one of the newest Board Members of the Kanata North Business Association. As Talent Program Manager at Ottawa-based tech leader, You.i TV, Kylie continues to roll out initiatives focused on raising the National profile of the Kanata North Tech Park, the Ottawa high tech scene, and Women in STEM programs. She believes in disrupting the status quo, bringing creativity to structure, and taking an Agile-approach to Recruitment.
Dr. Alina Turner leads HelpSeeker, a B-Corp social enterprise focused on scaling systems change to resolve complex social issues leveraging research and technology. She is also a Fellow at the UCalgary School of Public Policy, and is known for her work on systems planning and integration in the social safety net ecosystem.

Anne-Marie Côté holds a Master's in Organizational Psychology, but began working with youth as a classroom teacher. She is committed to building engaging and empowering spaces to learn for all. Working for TakingITGlobal, Anne-Marie heads up the Connected North Francophone program and will support our efforts to offer French-language webinars and translations/transcriptions.
